The midlength Coconut reworked into a more shortboardy version! Lots of hybrid shortboard concepts here; it just disguises it with a round, curvy, friendly outline. A repetitive statement I get from just about every one of my customers who has a short Coconut: "I can't believe how well this thing cranks turns!"...and it REALLY does! There's a plethora of performance characteristics built into the Coconut's shape, but the bottom contours and curvy outline lend to still-energetic, but fluid and somewhat laid back flowy ride. Perhaps the raddest part about the Coconut is it's ability to have different "personalities" or ride-feels depending on the fins/fin setup and surfer. It's a truly hyper-versatile board.
The summer series Coconut is a mini, more performance version of our popular midlength. The Coconut is a mini performance egg shape designed to boost any surfer's wave count, and - as the mini version - be more versatile and mobile. The overall concept of the Coconut is to feel super consistent underfoot. It has a dreamy flow to it, and it's turns feel beautifully linked up, yet powerful and agile. This thing is a quiver killer. It works really well on bigger almondy days, too. The Coconut isn't about having an angry look on your face all day and slapping the water out of frustration. It's about getting more waves in one day than you knew was even possible, having tons of flowy fun, and improving your skills. The Coconut improves your shortboard skills, too!
The Coconut works great with just about any fin setup: single fin, 2+1, thruster, quad, quad+1 or 5 fin convertible. Dave's personal favorite for the Coconut is the quad+1.
