Be sure to give the Love's webpage a read if you haven't yet, as the Lust is it's slightly shorter, younger brother and based heavily off of the Love's design. The Lust has been modified to excel in fast, walled up yet pockety, smaller, tighter square-hollow barreling surf where having extra paddle power to get in a microsecond early and an extra gear of speed can make the difference of getting clamped down on all day versus making it out of a fair share of cover. Compared to the Love, the Lust is slighter wider at the waist with a touch fuller nose and tail for added surface area and planing power. The rocker remains very similar but gets slightly staged compared to the continuous rocker of the Love, putting a gas pedal under the front foot and more dramatic pivot off the back foot. Since the rocker staging + tail flip and touch of extra width loosen things up a bit, the bottom contours are simplified to single throughout to balance everything out, with the option for QR [Quad Radiating] microchannels to add a little extra teeth in the tail. The Love's semi-pulled-in round tail also gets a reshape to a tight thumb tail for added snap and quickness rail-to-rail and off the bottom. While the Love has the ability to handle some decently overhead surf and the Lust's ceiling isn't quite as high, a differentiator is that the Lust can definitely grovel a bit, where the Love takes more work than most surfers would prefer. You should also surf the Lust an inch or two shorter than the Love. While the Lust is definitely geared towards navigating small-to-medium tight quick barrels that are very typical low-to-mid tide surf described above, it can absolutely serve double duty as a competent daily driver as well for getting critical in the pocket as well off the tail.
